New Student Account Onboarding Walkthrough for Applicants / Students
Note: You will need to have a laptop and your mobile phone ready to start the process.
Each new student at DCU is allocated a unique email address which is used to log into your DCU email, Loop, Wi-Fi and to register for your course.
New students will be sent an email from DCU to outline how to access this information, please check your email spam folder if you have not received the email. The first page you will reach when clicking the link prompts to confirm your identity. This is done by confirming the application / student number.
When logging in for the first time, you will be prompted to set up multi factor authentication (MFA) using your mobile phone. This helps to ensure that your DCU user account has optimal security applied.
How to Set Up Your DCU Account
- On your laptop, open the email from the university with your registration instructions.
- Enter your student DCU application number.
- Keep note of your DCU email address.
-
Create a strong, unique password you will remember, that is not easily guessed and immediately keep it secure:

You are now successfully setup to access your DCU account and will receive an email from the student onboard system with the next steps that are required by registry. This email provides your DCU Email address as a reminder. Follow the guide and steps through - if you get stuck please watch the instructions supplied by the Registry
You can access your DCU email account by setting up the official Gmail app on your mobile and from the Student Email link at the bottom of every DCU webpage through DCU Apps.
Note: You need to have the MS Authenticator App on your phone throughout your time as a DCU student. Do NOT uninstall it after setting it up the first time - it is required as your extra authentication method whenever prompted while logging into a system.
