Password reset – DCU Guest

Are you sure an incorrect password is causing the login issue?

Before attempting to reset your password, please ensure that an incorrect password is the actual cause of your login difficulty. You should review the relevant account login checklist to rule out other service issues.

Follow these steps to reset your DCU Password

If you are using a Personal (BYOD) device, ensure your device is connected to eduroam for optimal performance and authentication during the installation and reset process. Select the relevant link below to start.

Staff: Go to http://apps.dcu.ie

Student: Go to http://login.mail.dcu.ie

Step 1

Click on the Forgotten my password option.

Password Reset Step 2 - Enter your DCU email address and then the characters in the picture.

Step 2 - Identification

Enter your DCU email address and then the characters in the picture. Complete the security validation by entering the characters displayed in the CAPTCHA picture.

Password Reset Step 3, Choose the Email my alternative email address and click on the blue Email button.

Step 3 - Verification Method

Choose the option to Email my alternative email address and select the Email button.

Verification Code, Open your alternative email account to retrieve the code, search for the following: Microsoft on behalf of Dublin City University.

Step 4 - Retrieve Verification Code

Open your alternative email account to retrieve the code. Look for an email from: Microsoft on behalf of Dublin City University.

Password Reset Step 5, Enter the code that was sent to your alternate email address and click on the Next button.

Step 5 - Enter Code

Return to the reset window, enter the code that was sent to your alternate email address and select Next.

Password Reset Step 6, Choose to Approve notification on my autenticator app and click on the bluce Send Notification button.

Step 6 - Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Choose Approve notification on my authenticator app and select Send Notification.

Password Reset Step 7, Open your authenticator app and enter the 2 digit code displayed on the screen and click yes.

Step 7 - Finalise Authorisation

Open your authenticator app on your mobile device. Enter the 2-digit code displayed on your computer screen and select Yes to authorise the request.

Password Reset Step 8, Enter your new password and then re-enter to confirm. Click on the blue Finish button to complete the password reset process.

Step 8 - Set New Password

Enter your new password* and re-enter it to confirm. Select the Finish button to complete the process.

*Note: Password Requirements

The length must be between 14 and 25 characters long.

Must include at least one uppercase character (A-Z).

Must include at least one lowercase character (a-z).

Must include at least one special character (e.g. @, #, $, %, !).
