Student onboard interface walkthrough - applicant/student perspective
The first page a student will reach when they click the link prompts the student to confirm their identity. This is done by confirming the application / student number.
The next page will prompt the student to choose a new password. The student is informed that the password must be between 14 and 25 characters long, pass phrases are recommended and at least one special character is needed. The student MUST take a note of this new password created at this stage
The student is now shown their user account details. The student can print or download these details for a limited time.
The student then receives an Email from the student onboard system with the next steps that are required by registry. This Email provides your DCU Email address as a reminder. Follow the guide and steps through - if you get stuck please ensure you have read the instructions supplied by the Registry
First time logging into a DCU system using single sign-on
For example, first time logging in to your DCU Student email account - Open http://login.mail.dcu.ie/
The student will be prompted to provide more information. This is required for 2FA. The student will be prompted to install the Microsoft authenticator app. The student should scan the QR code provided or choose to set it up using an alternative method.
Please refer to this full guide with pictures to complete your MFA process. Please note you need to have the MS Authenticator App on your phone throughout your time as a DCU student. Do NOT delete it after setting it up the first time - it is required as your 2nd factor authentication method whenever prompted.
If you change your phone at any time - you will need to log a ticket with ISS as at present there is so self-service option to re-set your authentication method/device
